The Best Budget Office Chair in Australia? Fortia Ergosi Honest Review & Assembly Guide

After weeks of comparing different models, my Fortia Ergosi chairs have finally arrived!

Since I’m currently renting and may need to move at some point, I was looking for something affordable (under $100) yet functional.

My must-have list included breathable mesh material, adjustable armrests, and lumbar support.

Here’s why I chose this chair and how I managed to grab two of them for just $69.60 each!

How I Stacked Discounts at Everyday Market

I purchased these from Everyday Market. I picked up one Black model (normally $89) and one White/Grey model (normally $99). Luckily, they were both on sale for $80 each when I bought them.

To get the best deal, I used a few "stacking" tricks:

  1. Bulk Discount: I utilized a promotion where you get $15 off on orders over $150. This brought the total down to $145.

  2. Gift Card Hack: Since I use Everyday Mobile, I bought a $145 gift card at a 4% discount.

  3. Final Cost: After the discount, I only paid $139.20 total for two chairs—plus Free Shipping! That’s an unbeatable price of $69.60 per chair.

Unboxing and Assembly: A Few Hurdles

Opening the box, I found a QR code for the assembly guide.

It was quite convenient as I could zoom in on the diagrams using my phone.

The alphabet labels in the guide didn't quite match the labels on the actual parts, which was a bit confusing.

However, the assembly itself wasn't too difficult.

It took about one hour to finish both chairs. While the included tools are decent, I’d recommend using your own toolkit if you want to speed things up.

Comparing the Models: Black vs. White/Grey

I started with the Fortia Ergosi Black model first.

The parts were meticulously wrapped in plastic, and interestingly, the left and right components were color-coded to prevent any confusion.

This one took me about 40 minutes to assemble using a bit of intuition.

Next was the Fortia Ergosi White Frame with Grey Mesh. Even though they share the same model name, the components and design were slightly different.

Surprisingly, the Grey model came with the base/legs already pre-assembled, so it was much faster to put together. Even though the alphabet labels were still inconsistent, having already finished the first chair made this one a breeze.

Pros & Cons

Finally, our two new "back-savers" are complete!

What I Liked (Pros):

  • Comfort & Support: The cushion is surprisingly plush, and the lumbar support feels very stable.

  • Breathability: The mesh material is a game-changer compared to leather chairs—no more getting sweaty during long sessions!

  • Smooth Mobility: The wheels glide effortlessly, and the gas lift feels secure. It encourages a better posture than chairs that are too soft.

What Could Be Better (Cons):

  • Armrest Limitation: This was my only disappointment. Based on the description, I thought the armrests were fully adjustable (4D). While they move forward/backward and side-to-side, the height cannot be locked into a higher position. They simply flip up or down, which makes the armrest height a bit lower than I’d prefer.

Final Thoughts

Overall, considering the price, the Fortia Ergosi offers incredible value. If you are looking for a stylish, breathable office chair on a budget, this is definitely worth considering—especially if you can catch a sale like I did!
